From 1973-1983 lived in London, Uganda, Nigeria and Zimbabwe, working as a lecturer in Painting and Film/Photography. In I976-77 worked for several months in Asia Minor on a T.V. historical documentary film tracing the route of Xenophon’s “Anabasis” through Turkey, Syria and Kurdestan. Extensive journeys across much of the African continent have continued when circumstances permit.
In 1984, having given up teaching and after a year painting in London, decided to move to Italy. At the invitation of the sculptors, Paola Brusati and Giuseppe Spagnulo, Goodwin took over the studio previously occupied by the english painter Mark Harris in “La Casa degli Artisti”, Corso Garibaldi, Milan. Here he was to live and work for many years. In 1992 he began to establish a home-studio base in the Langa Astigiana (Roccaverano) but continued to work in the Milan studio until the closure of the Casa degli Artisti in 2007 (for restoration - in 2014 still incomplete...), and in London. In november 2010 he rented a studio in Docks Dora, Turin, where he worked regularly until december 2013. He presently lives and works in both the North of England and the studio in Roccaverano.
